NABOISHO is Community-Based Organization (CBO) in Meto, Kajiado county, Kenya registered in 2016. Born from a pressing need to address the rising teenage pregnancies and dismal learning outcomes, Naboisho Action Network is dedicated to transforming the lives of children and women in Meto.
Our initial focus has been on empowering young girls by providing critical training in self-awareness, decision-making, time management, and emotional management. To date, we have successfully trained over 400 boys and girls from Meto Primary and Secondary School. This initiative aimed to equip these young minds with the necessary skills to navigate life’s challenges and make informed decisions.
Recognizing the crucial link between economic empowerment and educational success, NABOISHO has also directed efforts towards diversifying sources of livelihood for women in Meto. Through comprehensive capacity-building training, we support these women in establishing kitchen gardens, enhancing digital literacy, and developing poultry farming ventures.
Our goal is to enable these women to meet their daily needs and support their children’s education, thereby reducing school dropouts and preventing early marriages that often result from financial constraints.
Our programs specifically target young women aged 15-24, a group that includes many newlyweds from early marriages. By focusing on this demographic, NABOISHO aims to break the cycle of poverty and early marriage, ensuring these young women have the skills and resources needed to build better futures for themselves and their families.
Driven by our founder’s passion for education and girl child empowerment, NABOISHO is committed to creating opportunities for pastoralist women and their families to lead self-sufficient and fulfilling lives. Our strategic plan aims to build a resilient community where every child has the opportunity to thrive and every woman has the means to support her family.
