Women Groups – Empowering Mothers, Strengthening Communities

Our Women Groups are made up primarily of mothers and caregivers whose children attend the schools where we run our education programs. These women are organized into self-help groups that serve as safe spaces for learning, peer support, and empowerment.

Beyond economic empowerment, we invest in the holistic development of these women to ensure they can support their children’s education and wellbeing. The groups receive structured training in:

Leadership and decision-making to strengthen their participation in family, school, and community affairs

Mental health awareness and emotional wellbeing to help them manage stress, trauma, and family responsibilities

Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) education to improve their understanding of health, parenting, and bodily autonomy

Household-level planning and goal setting to improve stability and create nurturing home environments

We recognize that children thrive best when their caregivers are informed, emotionally stable, and economically empowered. These women become agents of change—supporting learning at home, advocating for education within the community, and modeling positive change for their children.

By equipping them with both practical and psychosocial skills, we strengthen the foundation of our core mission: improving education outcomes for children through community-rooted solutions.
