Childcare Centers
We support home-based childcare centers run by grandmothers in the community. These centers provide a nurturing, culturally familiar environment where young children are introduced to early learning before joining formal school.
The grandmothers share traditional stories and folktales to help children build listening, speaking, and thinking skills. These stories are complemented by audio recordings played on radios in the local language, ensuring that children understand and connect with the content.
The centers are equipped with learning materials such as cut-out pictures of fruits, parts of the body, weather patterns, clothing, and shapes. These visual tools help children recognize and name common objects, preparing them for school-based learning.
This approach helps ease the transition from home to school—both emotionally and linguistically—by introducing structured learning in a familiar setting using the local language.
